The fantastic dishes - both from the cabinet and off the menu - hit the spot every time. Inspired salads are a house speciality. Alimento also offers a wide range of gluten -free dishes and items for those on special diets.
The spacious cafe is based in the historic former Masonic Lodge building. On warmer days cafe patrons spill out on into the courtyard's all day sun, or seek shade under the majestic centruy-old Karaka tree.
When the cafe was set up in 2002 the owners wanted it to be the heart of the community for their customers. This focus continues with new operators Carly and Cameron Ward who took over early 2010. ``We want everyone to feel like its their place,'' says Cameron.
Alimento has received wide-ranging praise, including being rated Tauranga's best breakfast spot by Cuisine.
