Santiago Correa - Head chef
Pulling it all together out the back is Alimento's kitchen genius Santiago Correa.
Head chef Santiago joined the Alimento team in 2007. His talent and general hard work have helped Alimento remain the local favourite it is today.
Santiago has previously worked in various kitchens in his native Argentina, along with stints in some of Auckland's better cafes and delis (Rosehip Cafe, Delisssimo Delicatessen, Vela Delicatessen) and at Crowne Plaza Hotel.

A love for good food and the joy that comes from sharing a meal with family and friends prompted the husband and wife team to open Alimento in December 2002.
They were planning to return to the Bay of Plenty after six years enjoying Melbourne's gastronomic delights when they decided to follow their passion and offer an inspired café experience in Tauranga. Six years later the pair still love coming to work at Alimento and are delighted to see their many regulars treating the place as theirs.
"We want our customers to feel like it's their place. We want to be the heart of their community," Hamish says.
Catherine & Hamish will soon hand over the mantle to Carly & Cameron Ward who take over in Feb 2010.
